PAGEANT AUDITIONS A GREAT
SUCCESS
The First ever Miss Tropical MK Auditions went off with a bang this Saturday
at the Prestigious Silk Road Restaurant in Milton Keynes. Despite the late turn
out of contestants, the event ran smoothly throughout, opening with a
presentation from Pageant Director and former Miss Jamaica UK, Gail Davis. Gail
expressed the vision of Miss Tropical MK to an enthusiastic audience. She
explained how the event will impact the lives of not just ethnic minority women
but many talented young people in the city of Milton Keynes. ‘ There is a need
for more young role models in our local community, Miss Tropical MK will
address this issue and in so doing unearth the wealth of talent is somewhat
hidden in Milton Keynes’.

The presentation followed an introduction of the judging
panel for the day which included; Advertising Executive, Marketer and Lecturer
Paul Radway, Teemor Alam, Financial Consultant & Asian classical Musician,
Ife Kuku, Professional Dancer & Singer
& Stark Of BBCs ‘DanceX’ along with Image Consultant and
international Make-up artist Joy Gittens.
Guests enjoyed presentations and performances from 12 prospective
contestants and talents and were particularly wowed by an outstanding Tap Dance
Routine by Young Lauren Hallgate.
Miss Tropical MK is keen to recruit another 5 to 6 contestants
as well as talented local artistes. Interested contestants and talents are

before the next auditions on May 29th.

Having only been launched a month, Miss Tropical MK
pageant is already clearly set to be the next big annual calendar event in
Milton Keynes. The pageant continues to rapidly grow in support from sponsors
& patrons as well as in popularity amongst young people in the
community.
Miss Tropical MK extends a special thank you to The Silk
Road Restaurant for lending their beautiful premises for the day’s events.
The finals of the pageant will be held in August however
there will be 2 major events leading up to the finals, to include a big Fashion
and talent showcase in June followed by a Tropical Party in July. Details will
